The Gardens: Helmingham is famous for its Grade 1 listed gardens, redesigned by Lady Tollemache (a Chelsea Gold Medallist) set in a 400 acre deer park surrounding a moated Tudor Hall. Visitors enjoy the rare chance to see Herds of Red and Fallow Deer living in the wild as well as the enchanting herbaceous borders, the herb & knot gardens, and rose and wild gardens. A delicious range of local food is served in the Coach House restaurant and tearooms and the stable shops offer a wide range of local produce, plants and garden accessories and local crafts. A wide range of specialist nurseries and garden wear companies, as well as a Gardeners Question time and forum.
Sunday 25th July - Helmingham Festival of Classic and Sports Cars
Over 500 vehicles representing the last 10 decades of motoring history, plus food displays and children’s entertainment, everything for a great family day out!
Sunday 1st August - Suffolk Dog Day
A huge popular dog show! Fun for all the family, classes for dogs with the waggiest tail and the best dressed dog as well as dog agility and loads of main ring entertainment focused on the family’s best friend.
Saturday 7th August & Sunday 8th August - Helmingham Food and Drink Festival
A brand new event in the Helmingham calendar! The Food and Drink Festival will attract a wide range of producers from the local area and further afield. There will be cookery demonstrations and entertainment as well as the chance to enjoy the beautiful gardens!
Sunday 15th August - Helmingham Celebrates Suffolk
A chance to see the rare Suffolk breeds such as the endangered Suffolk Punch Horse and Rare Large Black pigs. Fantastic displays by the British Driving Society and their traditional Horse drawn vehicles as well as country crafts and music and Suffolk food.
