A truly awe inspiring place to visit, displays in the Exhibition Hall reveal the life and death of the Anglo-Saxons, the centrepiece is a full size replica of the burial chamber and the grave goods thought to belong to a great Anglo-Saxon warrior king. 2009 will see the installation of a new exhibition that delves into the history of feasting, with artefacts on loan from the British Museum, many of which were discovered on site, during the famous dig of 1939.
History is brought to life with costumed characters - everything from a 1930s archaeologist to mighty Saxon warriors! Children can delve into the dressing up box or let off some steam in the play area. Why not indulge yourself with quality seasonal food in the restaurant, before taking yourself off to explore the rich historic landscape with its birds and wildlife - a great day out for all the family.
