Adnams have been brewing beer in Southwold for over 150 years and all around the town you can enjoy a taste of Adnams. Hidden behind a Victorian Facade is one of the most energy efficient breweries in Europe. For a chance to see behind the scenes and find out more about how beer is made why not join one of the regular Brewery Tours. For just £10 you can enjoy a guided tour followed by beer and wine tasting and a chance to take home a free bottle of Adnams beer. If you prefer shopping to beer making then the Cellar&Kitchen store and cafe on Victoria Street has over 400 wines, with free tastings every day, a huge selection of kitchenware and of course Adnams beer. The relaxed cafe serves a wide selection of seasonal, local food: look out for the special seating areas recycled from copper brewing vessels and the old beach groynes reused in the courtyard. Around the streets of Southwold there are five individual Adnams pubs including the award winning Lord Nelson, famous for its fish and chips, and The Harbour Inn where you can watch the working fishing boats come in and enjoy the views of Walberswick across the river. If you wish to stay longer or enjoy a meal then The Swan and Crown hotels offer a great location on the High Street and award winning food with an emphasis on fresh local ingredients.
*Brewery tours are for over 18s only.
