Sunrise Coast

Sunrise Coast

Welcome to the UK's most easterly point, the Sunrise Coast.

Stroll along Lowestoft's beautiful promenade gardens and sea front.  Then on to Southwold, recently voted Britain’s Most Traditional Resort. Inland, the market town of Halesworth is a hub for cultural events.  Oulton Broad is the southern gateway to the Broads National Park, whereas upstream on the River Waveney are the picturesque market towns of Beccles and Bungay.

There's plenty to do: whether you love coastal adventures, exploring the delights of small market towns or an all aboard experience on the Suffolk Broads.  Here's some specific ideas to get you on your way:

Fun ideas:

1.  Family friendly Lowestoft has two vast Blue Flag beaches, two lively piers and a range of attractions to entertain the whole family.  Children laugh and shout as they run through the Royal Plain Fountains.

2.  Southwold Pier's 'Under the Pier Show' is well worth experiencing, which together with the Punch and Judy Show on the beach front has further developed Southwold's reputation as a classic seaside resort.

3.  Water lovers can enjoy the thrills of Coastal Voyager a high speed boat or the more relaxing pace of a boat trip to explore the Suffolk Broads.

A bit of Local Knowlege:

1.  Spectacular Sunrise's.  Get up early and watch the sun rise as the country slowly wakes up.

2.  Climb the Bell Tower at Beccles Church and see the panoramic views of the Suffolk Broads and Countryside.

3.  Explore old Lowestoft and the Scores that lead to the old fishing beach.

Touch of indulgence or me time:

1.  Relax by the broads on a Sunday afternoon and listern to the brass band play (July-Sept).

2.  Indulge in some retail therapy exploring independant shops in Halesworth and Southwold.

3.  Experiencing local prioduce is a must do.  Whether that's enjoying a pint of Adnams beer or qualtiy sea food in one of the many restaurants or pubs, visiting a farm shop or farmers' market.  Oh, don't forget a trip to our very own English wine producer in Wisset either.
